Guided kayak tours and sunset paddles

If it's your first time, a guided tour takes the guesswork out of it. Guides lead small groups past the sea lions and Stearns Wharf and point out wildlife along the way. Sunset tours are a favorite for couples, and surf and SUP lessons are available too.

Wildlife you might see

Harbor rental shops say paddlers often see sea lions resting on the harbor buoys, plus plenty of seabirds. Give animals room: NOAA asks everyone to stay at least 50 yards from seals and sea lions, and 100 yards from whales. If you want to see whales up close, a boat is the better bet.
